28th June 2011 Our goat Adventure

We had to be up with the workers today...Yuk !! but they were on the job bright and early and we got under way soon after...

We still really have no idea where we are heading...but decided to head to Wagga and go from there....as always around here it was a nice pleasant drive and a nice day to go with it...Once at Wagga we started to look around for a free camp spot for the night...Driving down a country road John spotted some angora goats... so cute... we pulled over as I wanted to take a picture of them... and once at the fence we notice this poor goat with its head stuck in the fence its horns were so big it could not get out...

All the other goats were around her and wouldn't leave her, it was so sweet...

John tried to free her but it was hopeless...

We could see a house about 500 metres down the road so we walked to the farm house, but the goats did not belong to them...but they managed to contact the people that did own them and they said they would come down and free it...

We walked back as I didn't want to leave the poor thing in distress till the owners came as who knows how long she had been there already... after a while they still had not turned up... so we said stuff  it.. and John cut the fence and we freed it our selves ... she was a happy little goat after that !!!!

So that took up a few hours... so we moved on and found a nice spot at the side of a river just outside Wagga Wagga, where we stayed for the night...and we will move on tomorrow to who knows where as long as its heading north to the warm sunshine !!!

27th June 2011

Up bright and early and got the RV in for its service with no problems...Now we had a whole day to entertain our selves till it was ready for pick up..

We never seem to have trouble finding something to do.. we ate and we shopped and then we ate again :) and in the afternoon we went to the cinema and watched a great movie... did the grocery shopping and headed back to pick up the RV !!!! of course nothing every goes right... they didn't have the right oil filter, which had to be ordered again and was not ready till tomorrow... so once again we found ourselves parked in a service centre being locked up behind wire fences for the night :)

26th June 2011 Leaving Tawonga

We stayed over night in the RV as we had cleaned the house ready for Chris and John to return. Sophie was following us around all day yesterday wondering what was going on as we was back and forth to the RV repacking it again...

Chris & John arrived home around lunchtime and after a chat we said our goodbyes and headed to Wodonga showground where we are staying the night, as we have to take the RV in for a service tomorrow early....

After settling in at the showground we went out to dinner and had a yummy meal of grilled Barramundi & salad...

21st June 2011 One Last Time

Today was another very misty low cloud day again...and it was obvious that it would be snowing up the mountains...I suggested to John we go for one last drive towards Falls Creek and see if we can catch it snowing again...We didn't pick up any chains which is compulsory now as we only intended to go as far as when we could see snow and maybe catch it snowing one last time..we  took some chicken and decided we would have a little picnic lunch up there....

We got about half way up and still no snow on the ground but it was raining quite heavy...then all of a sudden we turned a bend and there it was THICK snow on the ground everywhere...

I know I have been raving on about the snow...but its just lovely we cannot get enough of it..we were so pleased to see it again, and then the rain changed to snow and I got my wish it was snowing....

As you can see by the pictures the road was well covered in snow which was very sloshy and because of the  winding roads we could not turn around yet till we came to a bay...it was a bit of a worry not having chains with us...

We finally came to a bay and turned in, another car was there trying to fit chains to the wheels...We decided to have our picnic lunch in the car and watch it snow....

After lunch John decided to venture out of the car and try and help them...

I was getting a bit worried as it was snowing heavy and the car was covered in snow...and we had to get down the mountain before it was impossible to go without chains...so we left the guys still trying to put the chains on....

We still managed to take a few more pictures on way down...so sad to leave it ... I just love it up there its so beautiful...

20th June 2011

Now all our visitors have departed we have been busy getting the RV back to normal and packing it back up again... one of the chores was that we had to turn it around so we could eventually put the trailer on the back for the car, to do this we had to drive down the driveway and onto lawns to reverse it back up the driveway... and because of all the rain it wasn't as easy as the first time we did it...

Our big 10 tonn home was just not going to move !!!

We had to call upon Grant ( John's son the owner of the house) to bring up the tractor to pull us out !!

John fixed it up the best he could....

15th June 2011 New Moon

It was a new moon and the view of the moon coming up over the snow capped Bogong Mountain...was just amazing....

Nanna at the park with Grand children

While I was in Sydney visiting, I had a great day with 3 of the grand children Jenna, Ella and Ryan at the park....

I also helped Sharon with a hat for "Crazy hat Day" at Jenna school.

Jenna won first prize :)

And finally on the last day there I had a picture taken with my baby grand daughter Adelyn....

12th June 2011 Mt Hotham with Pat

And once again we are off to Mount Hotham...which we are sure we will see snow...so snow chains in boot which are compulsory now the snow season is open..once again off we go...

And not to disappoint us it wasn't long before we were seeing the beautiful views of the snow capped mountains...

As you can see in this picture the road that winds through the mountain to the village we have to travel on....

It was so cold when we got out of the car your fingers just froze against the wind...

I never get tired of looking at the wonderful views no matter how cold it gets ...the snow falls and its untouched and its just beautiful....

As we get close to the village the roads just wind around and around the mountain you can see for miles the road ahead...

The higher we get the deeper the snow on the sides of the road...

Once at the village it was very busy with people everywhere skiing and on the snow chairs and tobogganing...

It started to snow while we were there... it was awesome....guess that's why they need the big machinery...

It was just great here we didn't want to head home...

This is the same spot Mychele stood in when we brought them up here only 14 days ago and it had no snow at all...

We decided to head back and have a late lunch and introduce Pat to our favourite cafe at Harrietville..

Driving back was even more amazing....its sad to say but the photos do not do any of it justice...

We had a beautiful lunch at the cafe of homemade pumpkin soup...oh boy it was YUM and just what the doctor ordered to warm us back up...

We had a great day !!!!
