23rd October 2011 Sunday

Another hot day and everyone started to arrive back again at the beach for the day, Sharon invited us out to Cronulla to watch Jenna at her nippers day.. so it was an early start for us... to get to Cronulla for 8.30am... we had a nice drive through Helensburgh and Sutherland towards Cronulla.

Arriving at the beach to what is an every weekend occasion hundreds of little nippers everyone all with different coloured hots on going through there weekly training to because our future lifeguards, all this was on Cronulla beach and in the distance the same thing was happening on North Cronulla beach..

We watched on while they went through their races etc..

While we were busy with Jenna John went off taking photos of  a challenge for the Guinness book of records, the most people to slide down a water slide in an hour !!! It was a very soap occasion... so slippy the guys and gals were doing head flips right over the top !!!

Once they nippers had finished with the racing .. they headed for the pool to do some practice on porpoise jumping skills.. to simulate going over the waves..

While they were keeping cool in the water, we tried to find a way to cool down... it reached 35 degrees today...

The kids finished off the day with tag racing ..(poor things in all that heat )

After we headed for a shady spot and had fish and chips for lunch yum !!

After lunch we headed home..decided to drive through the National Park on the way back it was a lovely drive...stopped off for a coffee...

It was a long day but a very enjoyable one... re returned to Coledale and everyone was leaving and we finally got our beach back all to ourselves...

I wonder if the same happens every weekend ??? We will find out next weekend as we have 2 more weeks here .. wooohooo

22nd October 2011 Saturday

My goodness what a glorious day... and Coledale Beach.. was just taken over people came from everywhere, the place was packed... We went from having the beach to ourselves one day and bedlam the next..They had the nippers on the beach...life savers everywhere, and we were able to watch it all unfold from our captains chairs in the RV.. great views of the beach and all its activities...

The weather was so hot we decided to go down to the beach for a while, I was the brave one that put my feet in the water...

Didn't stay in the sun too long as wouldn't take much to burn today, after lunch we ventured out to explore the rocks area...

We had some fun making use of the old pipes on the rocks and taking some interesting shots..

Even captured a little crab on the move !!

Jenna and her best friend Jet

This isn't really anything to do with our travels but I wanted to share it with you all.

How wonderful it is to see a child and her pet and the bond they share.

Sharon bought a German Shepherd pup (15 months old) from the police service as he didn't quite make the mark to become a police dog. She named him Jet !! for his obvious colouring :)

And the wonderful news is that he has bonded so well with Jenna my granddaughter...so much so she is never far away from his sight..they play hide and seek, and Jenna has to hide, while Sharon has to hold Jet back on the lead as he goes crazy when Jenna goes out of sight, once Jenna has hidden Jet is off the lead and finds her... he tracks her in seconds :) That's the police dog breeding I guess :)

They play on the trampoline together, when ever she is on it... he gets up there and they bounce together, or just relax and enjoy each others company...

And when Jenna is in the pool ... he has to be in there watching over her to make sure she is safe !!! even to the extent of putting his head under water while she swims ..

Its nice to know I have someone watching over her at all times...

21 October 2011 Friday

Well the warm weather has arrived it was a lovely warm day today....

John started off washing the car and I did some washing...

Then John wanted to go for a ride to Bulli Beach to go and see his late wife Adell memorial where her ashes were scattered, he was dosappointed to find the plaque he left there was no where to be seen after a long search he decided it was well and truely buried under all the brush now...

20th October 2011 Thursday

Very windy today but the sun is warm...

We had a nice walk on the beach and tried to capture the huge waves rolling in and the massive water spray off the rocks...

The beach stretches for miles..

Not many surfers out there today... because its rough but the waves are huge...

AS the day went on the waves got bigger I spent hours out side trying to get the best shot..here are some of them...

Could watch them for ever !!!

We finished off the evening having dinner with Pat & Glen to celebrate their birthdays
