4th March Friday

We are leaving Apollo Bay today heading to Torquay...we had decided to take the Great Ocean Road  as we thought it couldn't have been any worse than the way we came into Apollo Bay... but !!!! we didn't anticipate the weather did we... OMG it was pouring down with rain, definitely NOT a good day to travel the Road, but John said well perhaps it will keep others from travelling the Road...well no it didn't..every man and his dog was on it...I must give credit where its due... John is amazing..driving our big RV on that narrow road in the rain, and howling wind..I needed a Valium BIG TIME I was a nervous wreak... but he handled it no worries...he said his only "little" panic was when we met a big coach on one of the very narrow bends...we all had to breath in on that one....You just had to be there to appreciate what it was like....

The seas were amazing though to watch... I video it all the way as I gave John strict instruction not to take his eye's off the road  hahahah.....

We pulled up just outside Lorne at a nice place for morning tea great views of the ocean..

View from our dining room table

Took advantage of taking a picture of the house with a nice back drop !!!

On our travels you get to see some amazing things, and some very scary things...check out this house..who in the right mind with live here....

This was cool though ... its completely covered in artificial grass

The rain now gone we enjoyed the rest of the drive, arriving at the Torquay Foreshores Caravan Park, what a great site we have, right on the beach with a great view of the ocean from all our windows...

  1. Hi guys,
Beautiful photos. I love the Great Ocean Road and all it's surrounds. I finally have caught up on where you are, I think. Torquay ? But you've been slack and haven't updated for a while. Are you still there?
By the way, are you taking John to Warrnambool. It's a must see if he's never been there before. Beautiful place and caravan parks along the beaches. Make sure you get out to Port Fairy too.
    Love Maureen
